› The Sanctity of Life, Abandoned Yet Again

We’ve all been watching this manipulative healthcare debacle unfold this past weekend and now we’re preparing to see the Senate vote to pass a tax hike on the American people

It has been widely publicized that Senators have been allegedly trading votes for Federal funding to force the vote for passage.  Frankly, there are almost too many problems to look at in one blog post whether it’s unfunded mandates, state’s rights or the constitutionality of the bill itself.  The one issue I’ve found especially troubling is the federal government forcing US taxpayers to fund abortions.

While I know every liberal reading this is yelling at the monitor saying that abortions won’t be funded, I’d like to side with Rep. Stupak on this one.  If a pro-life Democrat isn’t satisfied with the language than I’m confident it can’t be trusted.  You can read the language “compromise” Stupak is talking about here.

The sanctity of life is something I hold in the highest regard.  The killing of fetuses, that is, human life is offensive, egregious and immoral.  In no way should I or any other taxpayer be forced to contribute to legalized murder.  I would ask all of you, no matter the results of the bill, to again stand up and let them hear your voice.  That’s the power behind the American people.  Let the House know that by accepting the terms the Senate has put forth they will not see another successful election cycle.  It’s time to bring dignity, honor and uncompromised values back to Congress.

I’d also like to commend Rep. Stupak on his devotion to his values. While we may disagree on many things, these values are something that should never be compromised and he has proven himself to be an honorable man.

You can hear his interview with CNSNews where he discloses the White House and Democratic leaders pressuring him below; “…[Pro-life values are] part of who we are, it’s part of our makeup, principal and belief we have. We are not going to just abandon it in the name of healthcare.” – Rep. Bart Stupak. (video below in post)
