The United States of America is the greatest nation on earth. Unfortunately, the left does not recognize that. In the name of their so-called “human” and “civil” rights they are on the verge of granting amnesty to some 13 million illegal aliens; essentially ceding American sovereignty to the rest of the world.

America takes pride in our ability to be a free and diverse people that function under the rule of law. With the recent law passed in Arizona that essentially just gives local law enforcement authority to enforce federal immigration law, it seems those in the Whitehouse and Congress are already planning for amnesty. They seem to have taken on the mantra that it is against the law to enforce the law and any form of immigration enforcement is racist. After all, President Obama himself politicized the race card once the law was signed and his very own AG Eric Holder has sent the Justice Department to harass those responsible for enforcing Federal law with absolutely no cause or basis.

So in the face of a strong majority of Americans that support the Arizona law and real enforcement of Federal immigration law the left, again, fights against the will of the people. WorldNetDaily news has reported that the Department of Homeland Security has already drafted a plan to process and give amnesty under the guise of Comprehensive Immigration Reform. While this isn’t surprising considering the terrible job Janet Napolitano has done with securing our Nation, they are out to solve the effect and not the cause. As we all know this will just lead to continual amnesty. We have already sold out our country financially now that the rest of the world owns us. Now we are selling open access to our borders to the rest of the world.

It is one thing for the Federal government to take over huge chunk’s of our economy as they did with healthcare, the Wall Street bailouts, the bank takeovers and stealing control of GM and Chrysler, but to give up our borders is against everything the Federal government has been allowed to do by our Divine Constitution. This is not about human rights nor is it about civil rights. This is about gerrymandering citizenship to retain power. Nothing more. Nothing less.

This is a gross abuse of Federal power. I have been called the angry Constitutionalist in the past, but quite frankly, it doesn’t seem so unreasonable to be angry at this point. They are not just disregarding the Constitution anymore, they are trampling it.

By Doug Mitchell, OperationRedState.com

A week ago Sunday there were actually two things going on. First, the demise of our healthcare system that 57% of Americans were against. Second, allegedly tens of thousands of immigrants rallied for amnesty in Washington. I’ve heard many people lately asking how the Democrats can have the audacity to act against the American people and still expect to stay in office.

Well. What would an additional 8 million and counting voters do? Obama has been making more and more mentions of his campaign promise to tackle immigration reform saying,

“I have always pledged to be your partner as we work to fix our broken immigration system, and that’s a commitment that I reaffirm today.”

Obama’s pledge to fix a system that isn’t actually broken is frightening. Immigration isn’t broken, it’s just not enforced. Of course Obama’s changes don’t mean to start enforcing, rather, offer amnesty to all illegal aliens and essentially securing the 2010 election year.

Much like healthcare, a majority of Americans are against amnesty and the type of reform team Obama would pursue but now they have proven they just don’t care what the American people think. This battle is not over and 2010 is still going to be a long year for a lot of us. The President and Democratic leadership have spoken. Now it’s time that we speak. Now it’s time we make sure they can’t pass anymore legislation that will destroy our Nation’s economy and Constitution. If not it will turn into the passage of cap and trade and any other form of legislation that will steal our liberties.

They think we’re going to give up after this enormous defeat and blatant disregard of the people. We’re not. We’re going to fight harder. We’re going to fight longer. We’re going to make sure every representative that voted for healthcare and pushes illegal amnesty will know for a fact they will not be around after November. We need to stick to our values and make sure amnesty doesn’t pass. The audacity of their corruption will not cease unless we put it to a stop.

Steve King at Funk's Announcement to Run for Office" width="264" height="174" />
Rep. Steve King at Funk's Announcement to Run for Congress

In a recent article, my friend Steve King talked about the administration’s new plans to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. He accurately argues that while there are over 15 million American citizens that are unemployed there are 8 million illegal aliens that are holding what should be American jobs. In this economic climate, there is no such thing as a “job an American wouldn’t do.” Our citizens need work and President Obama wants to eliminate the only reason employers find illegally hiring illegal aliens as lucrative – by granting them amnesty. If and when this would happen we then see an additional 8 million individuals who now cost a lot more money to employ and unemployment jumps up yet again as do the costs of social welfare.

In this article, King offers his own plan, New IDEA, and I fully support this IDEA (Illegal Deduction Elimination Act). We need real action against illegal immigration and it doesn’t work to just grant them amnesty. We need to send them home. Create a temporary work visa that some can apply for but allow only a limited number of them. Get them out of our borders and get these jobs filled by actual American citizens. Let’s not make all of America suffer through what California has.

Rasmussen, on March 3rd, came out with a poll that showed 67% of Americans consider illegal aliens a financial strain on the US. While only 19% think this is untrue, Democratic leadership still goes against the voice of the American people to try to pull together an amnesty bill before they lose their power in November. How out of touch is our current political leadership in Congress & the Whitehouse? They go against us on cap and trade. They go against us on healthcare. They go against us on giving $100 billion of our dollars to the world for climate change. Now they go against us regarding immigration. This is the audacity of corruption.

Rather, we need to press forward with Rep. King’s proposal that makes E-verify permanent and accessible to all employers nationwide. Employers that use E-verify will have protection if in fact any of their employees are found to be illegal. Those who fail to do this will have tax and benefit penalties.

Like King said, “We must reject amnesty, pass New IDEA, get Americans back to work and dramatically reduce the strain of illegal immigration on our economy.”

It is time to fight back against the corruption of the Obama administration and Congressional leadership. Bring the power back to the people. Enforce our immigration policy and get Americans back to work.

Post Authored By Doug Mitchell, Founder of Operation Red State and Chief TechOps Officer – Funk For Congress Campaign

I spent the first 33 years of my life in Southern California and I’ve seen first hand what lax immigration policy can do. What started as “We need immigrants regardless of legal status to fuel our growth” has become an epidemic of emergency rooms closing at an alarming rate.

What was brushed off as, “We need the people who do the jobs Americans won’t do” has become an approximately $24 billion annual money transfer (called Remittances) from the U.S. to Mexico. (2007 stat from NYTimes blog)

What began as “Bilingual classrooms to accommodate Spanish speakers” has become a non-integrated second society that allows immigrant youth to live a life where U.S. language and culture are optional.

Auto insurance rates suffer under the strain of claims in the “Uninsured Motorist” category while citizens pay ever more usurious rates.

Death by a thousand cuts comes to mind when I think of my former home state. Will we allow Iowa to suffer the same fate? Every time we gloss over the illegal immigration issue here in the heartland we plant seeds that bear a most poisonous fruit.

I don’t want this destiny for my new love…Iowa.

I want immigrants to come here legally and uphold Iowa’s great welcoming tradition. I’d like my children to have a rich and diverse experience too…just not at the expense of my fellow citizens and their economic prosperity. We need plentiful legal immigrants to follow the path of our grandparents and great grandparents by assimilating into American culture vs. supplanting it.

Strong border policy is an issue that we folks in fly over country don’t confront too often. That needs to change. I don’t want to wake up one day and find that Iowa is now a border state with a wrecked economy, awful roads, and no one to blame…but ourselves.

By Dave Funk, Candidate, Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District.

PoliceOne.com reported today on some newly developed GPS technology, created with tax dollars, to help migrants illegally enter the United States. At the University of California, San Diego, activists have used grant money from the PUBLIC University to develop and distribute GPS software for illegal immigrants that is easily installed on cheap cell phones. The software helps illegal aliens locate water bins in the desert. Of course, activists like these developers also distribute these water bins.

First, all Federal funding should be cut from any institutions or government agencies that assist or provide safe haven for illegal aliens. While these activists are breaking the law on the government’s dime, the Border Patrol is spending more money to curtail illegal immigration. Counter-intuitive? I would say so, among other things. It is outrageous that they are able to publicly do this and say “so what” to the US taxpayer. This is a prime example of how a lack of enforcement of US immigration laws gives activists the audacity to wave it in our faces.

Second, we should actively prosecute as felonies those who are assisting or offering safe haven to illegal immigrants. We have a border problem. If these activists are so willing to waste taxpayer dollars then let them do it in jail.

Third, let’s get that fence up. Some call it racist, most call it common sense. Our Border Patrol is highly trained and they are very good at what they do. When we are not providing them with the tools necessary to accomplish what they set out to do then we have failed them. Border Patrol Agents risk their lives everyday just as any other law enforcement officer and just because the border is several hundred miles away from us here in Iowa does NOT mean it shouldn’t matter to us or impact us in some way.

Our borders are a clear flaw in our National Defense policy and we are making a mockery of US law by not strictly enforcing these laws. What these activists are doing is not civil disobedience it’s ILLEGAL. What kind of skewed mindset do individuals have when they feel explicitly breaking the law is acceptable? They are so skewed that 33 year-old lecturer, Brett Stalbaum, actually likens himself to a Chief Technology Officer. For what? An ideological movement against US law and border policy?

It is vital that we finally realize we are not safe anymore and taking preventative measures are vital to keeping ourselves safe in the US. Following my three recommendations above do that without infringing on our liberties and freedoms given to us as US Citizens. These ideas have come up in the past and need to return to the forefront of US Border Policy. Not in debate, but in real action!

One activist said, “It’s about giving water to somebody who’s dying in the desert of dehydration.” NO. It is about a blatant disregard for the law and encouraging even more people to illegally enter the US.
